Governer General's Horse Guard Kicks Off it's 200th Birthday
Canada’s senior army reserve regiment, with members of Markham’s Council, raised their flag in Markham on New Year’s Day, in a parade and ceremony kicking off its 200th birthday celebrations in 2010. The Governor General’s Horse Guards paraded in their modern uniforms for a flag raising ceremony at the Town of Markham Civic Centre, alongside a mounted soldier in 19th century uniform outfitted with sabres and lances.
